At the end of April, an exciting event never seen before took place in the magnificent sports hall in Starnberg (near Munich). 20 participants competed in ChessBadminton. The competition was organised by the ChessSports Association, Anita Stangl and the TSV Badminton Department (headed by Peter Schickel). About 10 athletes from chess and 10 from badminton took part. An lively and friendly exchange followed. Tactical and technical similarities were discussed over lunch.

The Starnberg press devoted a lot of attention to the competition. Many thanks to Dr. Anita Stangl, who used her excellent networking skills to put on a first-class weekend. In the summer, another exciting event will take place in Starnberg with the chess table tennis competition and the CSA staff party. Is a new centre for cross-sport events emerging here?
